February 20th - 23rd

What a beautiful week to enjoy some sunshine and snowshoeing!

Learning Intentions:
- children explore physical activity in a variety of contexts

I can:
- perform physical activity experiences that provide personal enjoyment
- explore a variety of seasonal physical activities
- explore movement in a variety of outdoor activity contexts

Students we super excited to strap on their snowshoes and get outside! We talked lots about patience and perseverance as we learned that we had to walk a little differently (with our feet more apart) and that sometimes the snowshoes fall off...but it was okay because we could easily put them right back on and keep going!

We discovered many things on our snowshoeing adventure like the interesting cloud shapes in the sky, our community 'rent-a-rink', and different types of tracks left by animals and humans...including the cool prints left in the snow by our snowshoes!

Here's a few things students had to say about our snowshoeing experience...
  • "It was fun walking in the snow...I think we got stronger legs from doing it!"
  • "I really liked running down the hills with my snowshoes on!"
  • "It was a little hard because snow kept getting stuck in my snowshoes"
  • "My favourite part was looking at the rink"
  • "The think I liked the most about snowshoeing was spending times with my friends!"
  • "It was fun running up and down the hills!"
