Learning Intention:
- Students develop skills of historical thinking
I Can:

Students demonstrated great attentiveness and respect during our conversations this week about war and remembrance. They worked extremely hard preparing beautiful poppy art as well as a poppy wreath for our Remembrance Day assembly.
A few thoughts on what peace means from the students...
- "I think peace means quiet."
- "Taking big breaths and closing your eyes...that's peace."
- "Peace means happy"
- "Peace is being calm and quiet."
- "Closing your eyes and doing yoga."
- "I think peaceful means calm."
- "Peace is when you sit on your sit bones and close your eyes."
- "Peace makes you feel good inside."
We read the story A Poppy is to Remember by Heather Patterson and spent time talking about the significance of the poppy and why we wear it for Remembrance Day.
