March 2nd - 5th

I hope everyone had a really lovely Spring Break!
It was so wonderful to see the kinder smiles again and listen to them share all about their holiday adventures!

Learning Intentions:
- Children explore listening and speaking skills through a variety of literacy experiences
- Children experiment with written expression of ideas and information

I Can:
- Share personal experiences and stories through listening and speaking with others
- Participate in group discussions
- Demonstrate a variety of listening behaviours
- Create messages using pictures, symbols, letters, words

Students were excited to gather at the carpet for 'Talk Time' during our first few days back to school. As each student held the talking rock they shared about something special from Spring Break. Students did a great job using a clear, strong speaking voice as well as remembered to add important details such as who they were with - what they were doing - where they were - why it was special. The students demonstrated great respect by carefully listening to their friends as they talked. After sharing as a group students were invited to represent what they had just shared in their journal. Students worked hard to ensure that their picture included important details, careful colouring as well as 'kid-writing' (phonetic spellings).
