December 11th - 15th

It was another wonderful week in Kindergarten 💗
We have been buzzing with excitement and practicing lots for our upcoming concert!

Learning Intention:
- children investigate quantity to 10

I Can:
- recognize a number of familiar objects as a quantity
- represent a quantity in different ways
- relate a numeral to a specific quantity

We had lots of fun reading the story The Napping House by Audrey Wood, and wildly laughed out loud as each character (a child, dog, cat, mouse, and a flea) piled on top of Granny  as they slept! After the story, we worked together as a large group to figure out how many legs were in Granny's house. Our first strategy was using blocks to represent all of the legs in the story and then we double checked our answer using another strategy by drawing a picture and labeling the legs. Next we had to figure out how many legs were in each of our own houses!
